About the poetry reading last Sunday at Myopic Books:
unified & "Chicago" soulful! The audience listened very
intently, seemed to 'lean into' the sound of every word.
I answered questions about publishing, my background,
methods of writing, my motivations. A thoroughly satis-
fying experience, heartfelt thanks to Chuck Stebelton,
and the other generous spirits in attendance!

No blogging here for a while... change of focus. Thanks
for reading, feel free to contact: LJBloom916@aol.com
anytime! All best,

Li

Sneeze too fast.

Order supplies again.

Return last day, true performance.

1st grade ends.

Every blue white collar
Every blue white collar

We will be going off
To the fields again
Keeping in pace

First day ends
First day fiery

Rite of the youngest, fiery copy.

Bend your

Back toward landing

Play the fretless beginning

Joan Didion had said that writing is an aggressive, even hostile act
-listen to me, see it my way, change your mind- invading on the
reader's most private space. Even the whole manner of intimating
and alluding, rather than claiming or stating is the "tactic of a secret
bully." I challenge her position on a purely emotional level, that we
want to connect -not an ego struggle for dominance- but for empathy
and continuity.

If they refuse to put the challengers
In alphabetical order, who will survive?
Long ago, sailors used the stars as a map
To cross the ocean, they survived. It gets
Dark. It gets colder. Animals sleep. The
Stars come out. The creature is IN and far
Away. Star colors so far away. The sun is
Bright, cold air for a spring day. Heave ho--
Biggest burning eclipse by a group of sailors.

In itself the geometric
Attracts many situations,
Blossoms coy at first meeting
(No risk of archaic recall)
Or the unreal obstacle
Becomes blasted in mud.

to save the tale from the artist who created it."

In the sky box a nagging question thinks,

Is this necessary? Next in the evening the reply: yes

You are referring mainly to: must explore, philosophically understand

Shared reasons within silence: You think a triple bonus will be an objection.

We think so, obliterate the immensely complicated null. Events converge defining

Theories, certain stratagem mirrors, the way an infant contemplates, learning to

Grasp... swan lifts resistance-ardor, slithering shunt-on diamond backs.

There--- a raining scientist's brain never repeats same

Variation, stimulates chance behind memory

Stare back - --- -- -oasis.

Hello cyberspace, I haven't deserted you... I'm home!

On the 8th day it rained, otherwise a great relaxing vacation:
Idyllic 90s dry-heat-sun, gorgeous big sky, boulders, mountains,
foreign vegetation— Arizona heaven. From being webless in the
desert to How do you do poetry world, engage me back again.

Already very busy here, yesterday tried to re-acclimate to the
cooler temperature, to the midwestern flatness & small sky. Hm.
Definitely greener here than 10 days ago, definitely colder.
Abundant southwest beauty is incomparable. I'll miss it, but
I love home... reclaim the ol' homestead!

Meanwhile this blog has had a good rest, new poems to be
added when I get the chance. 1st Passover seder tonight,
matzoh balls, horseradish, lesson plans, endless preparations,
endless everything...

Hi out there, happy to be back!
